Prologue
UnScape has been around for quite some time. It has experienced many users' characteristics, from the proverbial kiss-ass all the way down to the not-so-proverbial jackass. It is safe to presume that this community, and its most loyal members, probably have the richest history of all RuneScape Private Servers (RSPS). That being said, dealing appropriately with situations our users - and we personally - are in has always been a serious job for the staff. With it comes a lot of experience and capacity of behavioral insights that are rare to the RSPS world. Through time, aforementioned experience has made us revision these rules several times. Since types of behaviors are surprisingly constant, we try to make these rules address everyone as good as possible.

As the staff, we believe people should treat each other in a way they wish to be treated themselves. These rules serve as a way to guarantee your fellow users what should really be obvious to the normally-enabled brain. It is for that reason that we are considered to be relatively strict when it comes to enforcing the rules, and that is not something we're tending to stop with.

The rules are divided into three categories, being Community, Website and Game. Each of these categories have been written for their specific area within UnScape. Note that even though the categories are divided by their respective area of effect, punishments are definitely not. Please take some time to familiarize yourself with these rules before browsing or playing UnScape. We encourage you to follow them during your time here, whether it be on the website or the game. Failing to do so will result in appropriate measurements being taken against your account, varying anywhere from a warning to a permanent banishment from our community.

Community rules
Community rules are applicable to both of the aforementioned categories. They contain mostly ways to stay social to your fellow UnScape user, how to behave and how to not misbehave. These rules are also what we consider to be the aforementioned no-brainers and, therefore, punishments can be more severe than commonly expected.

  1. Inappropriate language or behavior
Players of UnScape come from all around the world and from a range of cultural and religious backgrounds. Our mission is to create a fun and engaging experience for all our players. Therefore, language that is considered offensive, racist, obscene or otherwise inappropriate should not be used in any occasion that allows you to input information (such as in-game chat, signatures, blogs or threads/posts). This also includes, but is not limited to, discrimination, solicitation, threats, bullying, spamming or asking/applying for a privileged position of any kind.

We encourage players that experience language they deem to be offensive to use their ignore list and chat filters to customize their experience.

  2. Scamming
Asking/trying to persuade another player to give you their password or bank PIN for any reason is against the rules and will not be tolerated. Players must not scam or deceive other players. Misleading other players for your own personal gain is not in the spirit of fair play. This includes, but is not limited to, the obtaining of any items via dishonest means (commonly known as 'item scamming').

  3. Multiple logins
You are free to create as many accounts as you like and you are welcome to trade between your accounts just as you would with any other legitimate player. However, if any of your accounts obtained wealth by rule-breaking activity (use of macros or real-world trading, for example), all your accounts will be banned. Any penalty or sanction for breaking the rules on any of your accounts will always be applied to all of your accounts.

  4. Buying, selling or sharing an account
Each account should only be used by one person. Never share your account with anyone else, doing so will likely get the account banned. Players may not sell, share, transfer or let others login to their account for any reason. Players should not accept an account that anybody else offers as they may be stolen or otherwise misused.

  5. Impersonating a staff member
Players must not attempt to impersonate UnScape staff in any way, for any reason. The staff members have a crown (silver for Moderators, gold for Administrators) next to their name when speaking in-game. Anyone who does not have a crown next to their name is not UnScape staff. This applies to both private chat and general, in-game chat. The staff will never ask for any of your account's information, and you should under no circumstances provide this information to anyone.

  6. Privacy
You must not disclose or ask for another user's personal details without their explicit permission. This includes, but is not limited to, name, location (in any scope), email-address, phone numbers and messaging- or social service/media account ids.

  7. Advertising
Players should refrain from actively advertising within the games or forums. This includes, but is not limited to, advertising any community-website or product. Links to sites can sometimes be dangerous to players (by leading to sites with inappropriate content), accounts (by leading the owner to phishing websites designed to capture their account details) or to a player's computer (by downloading a virus when they go to the site). Personal blogs or news feeds which do not offer any products or contain any inappropriate content are allowed.

  8. Encouraging others to break the rules
Encouraging or helping others to break the rules is as bad as breaking them yourself, and therefore anyone doing so will be treated as if they were the one breaking the rule.

  9. Evading disciplinary measures against your account
Using other accounts to continue breaking the rules after already having measurements taken against one of your accounts will result in much harsher punishment for all accounts involved. This includes, but is not limited to, using other accounts to speak/post while muted or banned. Note we reserve the right to take measurements against any and all accounts believed to be in your possession, regardless of whether or not you directly used them to break the rules.

Game rules
The game rules describe what is expected from you in the game of UnScape, to guarantee a safe and fun gameplay for all people playing it. These rules are tailored specifically to in-game situations, which means they could change as certain game content changes. Naturally, though, you will be notified of any change to these rules whatsoever.

  1. Use of macros or third-party software
Software that can be used to gain an unfair advantage in our games may not be used. This includes, but is not limited to, automation tools, macros, bots, auto-typers and any other tools that circumvent any of our mechanisms designed to automatically log out inactive users.

  2. Knowingly exploiting a bug
Players must not use or attempt to use any cheats or errors which they may find in the UnScape software. Any exploits a player finds must be immediately reported to an official staff member. This may be done in-game or via the website.

  3. Unofficial games of chance
You must not advertise, organise, promote or take part in any unofficial, player-run games of chance where items are staked on the outcome of a random activity. This includes, but is not limited to, all types of chance games where players trade an amount of items with the expectation that they will receive items in return, based on the outcome of a game of chance or similar activity.

Website rules
The website can have a very different atmosphere than the game. It is for that reason that this category exists for serving in situations that can practically only occur on the UnScape website. This relates to everything from the Shoutbox to polls published by yourself or someone else.

  1. Stay on topic
Users should ensure that the content they place on the website is relevant to its corresponding topic. If something you wish to post has nothing to do with the topic, you are free to create a new thread or poll with a topic you decide within the appropriate sub-forum.

  2. Invalid polls
Polls are a great way to measure the community's opinion about a certain subject. There are, however, some limits as to what these subjects may subscribe. Users must refrain from posting "joke" polls which are not meant to actually seriously measure opinions and not to get an answer to any or every question you can think of. Posting polls about other people is under no circumstances allowed.

Should you see anyone breaking the rules, you should report that person using the on-site or in-game reporting functionality. Their previous actions and posts are then logged for the staff members to review. We can then take appropriate actions against their account. As a player, you are not obligated to take any other actions but reporting someone. It is up to you to decide whether or not to point out the rules to them. You may not, however, tell them they're "getting banned" or whatsoever. That is the job of the UnScape staff.

If you have any questions regarding the rules or the enforcement of them, feel free to contact a staff member.
